Good Morning!

After mini-Olympics last night, which involved floor swimming, elephant races and lots of missing shoes (nothing to do with me), you would think that the children would be worn out. You would think. The mid-night feast was moved forward and my story-telling sent a few off to sleep (!), but we were still awake into the small hours and up to listen to the dawn chorus.

The children are looking forward to their last activities this morning and are tidying their rooms at the moment, ready for room inspection. We will probably return tired, but happy (and a little grubby).

See you soon!

Some tea-time messages

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments. We have enjoyed reading them and they have put smiles on lots of faces.

We have been fencing, Laser shooting, problem solving and doing lots of ICT things this afternoon. I have calculated that most of us only had between 4 and 5 hours sleep last night, although I caught James, Harvey and Jack having a nap at breakfast time this morning!

Owen proved to be a bit of a star at fencing, having a fantastic duel with Jack. There was lots of 'face-slapping' duel challenges - James and Trafford's went on for ever!

They have all been brilliant and Mrs Rush has been very impressed with how they get along with one another, how polite and well behaved they are. Mr Knights has commented on how many children have bravely tried things that they have been apprehensive about - then loving it once they have done it. We have lots of lovely happy children.

The children are looking forward to Mini-Olympics tonight (and I'm looking forward to getting some sleep!)

Coming soon will be a picture of our crab named Laura.

Go Karting

WOW!!! We've done some great Go Karting this morning. I have to say the girls were by far the safest drivers - while the lads enjoyed slidding around the track. I also had great fun too!!

Emillie T, took to the track first and set the standards - she was fantastic carefully travelling around the corners - showing us all how to do it.

James Austin raced around the track demonstrating some good braking skills.
Daniel had great fun and managed to do some clever slidding around corners.

Down at the beach

The sun has smiled at us for the whole time we were on the beach. We found some crabs, fish, sea snails and shrimps, amongst other rock pool life. We've had a wonderful time. Kimberley is a sharp-eyed shrimp-spotter, Isaac caught the biggest fish and there were quite a few crabs that were collected too!

Alex and Rorie - happy crab and happy fish impersonations!

Laura found one on her shoulder!

We used our keys to identify the creatures.

Alex had a rock pool chat with Mr Knights.
Look at what we caught!

Chit chat

You may not have read anything yet about your child - so I thought I would write a few of their comments.

Kimberley, Ellen, Helen and Kerry all loved the go-karting. Jordan did the biggest skid of all - though I think some of the other boys tried hard to do a better one.

They have all gone off for a game of bingo tonight, after a room inspection! Reece, Luke, Joel, Jordan, Alex and Rowan's room was definitely the tidiest. There were a few odd things underneath some of the beds in the other rooms and under Tony's pillow is a stash of chocolate. I may be visiting there whilst he's at bingo!

Our tea was scrumptious and Holly loved it.

Emilie and Hannah really enjoyed making their beds up and they said they can't wait to sleep in them! Alex loves her bed because it is bouncy and Bethany and Emily are looking forward to a pillow fight tonight!

Please feel free to ask a question, or comment on what you have read.

It would be great to hear from you!

Fencing Fun!

Group E enjoyed a lesson in fencing!

Waiting in anticipation!

Shania, Laura and Valentine enjoyed fencing and showed some great beginners skill.

Isaac, William, Rorie, Tony and Daniel had a great time imagining they were taking part in an adventure film.
Isaac was over the moon when he beat me!

Our first activities!

We've had a fab time doing Laser Quest as you can see in the photos. We had some great team games and although it looks quite light in the photo, it was
really very dark!
Amanda was able to stay 'alive' the longest when we played green team against red. When it was girls against boys, the girls won! We had some great tactics.

Trafford, Harvey, Jack and James were on top form and seemed to be everywhere at once! Lewis had a tricky time with a couple of aliens and Owen was a sharp-shooting wizz!

By the way, if your child tells you that I had a tantrum / sulked each time I got shot - it is not true! Emily kept coming up from behind and shooting me, or Faye and Chloe would team up! Alex admitted that she shot me 5 times!!!
She might look sweet, but she's deadly with a laser gun!
